JUST AFTER I-40 REOPENS AT TN/NC LINE AFTER LANDSLIDE, CRASH FORCES LANE CLOSURES
Motorists on I-40 at the Tennessee/North Carolina border can’t catch a break.
After a February landslide led to lane closures and ten long weeks of repairs, all four lanes of travel finally reopened this morning.
Mostly.
An unrelated two-year project will cause lane closures Mondays through Thursdays, from mile marker 15 in North Carolina to the Tennessee state line.
And now, a jackknifed tractor trailer near Hartford has narrowed the interstate to one lane – for both eastbound and westbound traffic.
