Karen Virginia Ott, age 76, of Crossville, passed away at Cumberland Medical Center surrounded by family and friends on December 11, 2023. She was born June 27, 1947, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Gordon and Edna Holbrook Kenne. She was raised in Dayton, OH where she graduated from Fairmont High School. She worked many years at Dooley’s Pharmacy and Revco Pharmacy in Dayton, prior to moving to Bradenton, Florida where she worked at Trinity Lutheran Church and Manatee Memorial Hospital. She later worked for Walmart in Shelbyville, Indiana and Crossville. Karen married Douglas Ott on December 17, 1966, whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage with, the birth of two children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren prior to his death.

Karen will always be remembered for her kind heart and loving nature and the way that she touched so many lives. We will always imagine hearing her say, “Well I’ve never seen the beat”, and wondering what exactly that meant, just one more time. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, grandmother, sister or friend and we will miss her every day. Karen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

Karen was preceded in death by her spouse: Douglas Ott; parents: Edna Harris (Richard) and Gordon Kenne; maternal and paternal grandparents as well as stepsister: Shirley Harris.

She is survived by her daughter: Sharon Ott (Chris Melton) of Crossville; son: Douglas (Jamie) Ott of Shelbyville, Indiana; granddaughter: Brandi Webb (Charles) of Crossville; brother: Donald Kenne (Kathy) of Fairfield Glade; sister: JoAnn Strong of Dayton, Ohio; grandsons: Jason and James Ott of Shelbyville, Indiana; great-grandchildren: Marshall Webb, Dameon Buck and Coheed Webb, all of Crossville, Reid Webb of Clay, Kentucky, and Kirie Webb of Shelbyville, Indiana; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Karen’s service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hood Funeral Home of Crossville or your local animal shelter would be greatly appreciated.
