Sharp – Karla (Whitson) West was welcomed into the loving care of her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2025.  She was born on November 15, 1960, in Oak Ridge, TN, to the late Ruth (Quilliams) and Howard Whitson. She was married to Jack West and together they became the proud parents of a daughter, Jaclyn (West) Phillips, and a son, Joey West. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Karla is survived by her husband, Jack West; her daughter and son-in-law, Jaclyn and Nick Phillips; her son, Joey West; her brother, Kim Whitson; grandchildren, Kaylee Sawyer, Camden Phillips and wife, Isabel, Kristen Phillips, Lana Francis and husband, Tommy; and great grandchildren, Ellie, Levi, and Nicholas.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Karen (Whitson) Renfro, Kenneth Whitson, and Keith Whitson; and her great grandson, River.

Karla had a strong Christian faith, a wonderful sense of humor, an endearing laugh, a great enjoyment for music, and a deep and sincere love of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; often boasting of their accomplishments, whether large or small.

Funeral arrangements are handled by Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs, TN.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Pisgah Baptist in Oliver Springs on Saturday May 24, 2025 with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm followed by funeral services at 2 pm.
