Kathleen Ritter Wilson, 83

Praising God for His goodness to us, the family of Kathleen Ritter Wilson (83) of the Joyner community shares that she went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Thursday, December 4th, 2025. The strength of her faith, family, and heritage shaped a life defined by service, devotion, and steadfast love. Kathleen was born to Ray and Rachel Ritter of Petros on August 5th, 1942. She married the love of her life, Mitchell Wilson, on August 2, 1963. Together they built a home grounded in faith and unwavering commitment to one another. She was the cherished mother of Kimberly (David) Skinner and Regina (Brian) Messer; adored grandmother of Dalton (Kassie) Skinner, Wilson (Emily) Skinner, Karsten (Grace) Messer, Dawson Skinner and Claire Elise Messer; and delighted great-grandmother to Levi Skinner, with two more great-grand-blessings expected in April. She is also survived by her brother Harold (Nola) Ritter, her sister Linda (Russell) Shields, and a large circle of family and friends who were deeply touched by her generosity. Kathleen retired from the Central Office of Morgan County Schools, where she served with diligence, reliability, and quiet strength. Her gifts extended far beyond her work. Well-adapted to using her iPad to track her grandchildren and keep up with their daily lives, she was, in every sense, the sheepdog of her family. Fiercely protective, tirelessly hard-working, and tender in her care, she carried the burdens of others as willingly as she shared in their joys. Like our Lord, she shepherded with gentleness and courage, offering comfort and stability to all who needed her steady hand. A graceful host and an extraordinary organizer, Kathleen expressed love through service. Her kitchen was her ministry: her love language an expertly prepared meal and a lovingly stacked third or fourth plate. She never missed a beautifully handwritten birthday or anniversary card, honoring those she cherished with her intentional and constant support. Kathleen will be remembered for her relentless service, her generosity toward strangers, her kindness in every season, her unwavering courage in times of turmoil, and her dedication to family. The family held a private service on Saturday, December 6th. We thank you for all of your kind wishes and prayers. God bless you.
