Funeral Services for Kathryn Harvey, age 88, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Thomas will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Harvey was born on Wednesday, June 2, 1937, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late John Lowery and Linnie Jewel Henry Sampley. Mrs. Harvey passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. Mrs. Harvey was a retired correctional officer from New York City Police Department with 25 years of service. She loved gardening, cooking and entertaining, traveling and thrifting with her sisters, and people visiting her. She was a member of Monterey Church of the Nazarene since she was a child. She is survived by five children, Helen (Stuart), Annamarie (Chuck) Davis, Kathy (Tony), Barbara (Kevin), and son, Jim (Liz) Harvey; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Nancy Staup; brother, David (Mary) Sampley, sisters-in-law, Myrtle Sampley and Jo Sampley; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey; beloved grandson, Jason; siblings, Dewitt (Doris) Sampley, Fred (Dolly) Sampley, Claude “Bud” (Dorothy) Sampley, Norma Jean (James) Tinch, Charles Sampley, Jerry Sampley, and Michael Sampley.
