KENTUCKY FLOOD DEATH TOLL NOW AT 35; MORE RAIN FORECAST

More rain is expected in Eastern Kentucky this week as the area continues to deal with historic flooding. Kentucky Governor Andy Breshear said Monday that 35 people are known dead as a result of the flooding and that he expects the death count to rise as rescue crews continue to work.

He said that 14 counties and three cities have been declared emergencies and that more than 1,400 people have been rescued. Nearly 12,500 people are without power, with standing water slowing restoration efforts. Fourteen counties and three cities have been declared emergencies.
