KENTUCKY WOMAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES, TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS

Wayne County deputies conducting a traffic stop on North Second Street in Monticello, Kentucky, seized a large quantity of narcotics last evening.

Upon stopping the vehicle driven by 40-year-old Dawn M. Lair of Monticello, authorities saw a clear baggie containing meth in plain view. A search of both vehicle and driver resulted in the seizure of more than 50 grams of meth, 11 opiate pills, 1 Suboxone pill, digital scales and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies charged Lair with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, trafficking in meth, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and two traffic violations.

Lair was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center. An investigation is underway.
