KNOX COUNTY DEPUTY PASSES AWAY AFTER BEING SHOT IN LINE OF DUTY
Knox County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Tucker Blakely passed away last night from injuries sustained in a shooting Sunday night.
He was 29-years-old.
Deputy Blakely responded to a domestic situation on the 3200 block of Denver Lane in the Hardin Valley area.
Blakely and other deputies encountered the suspect, 30-year-old Matthew Logan Rose.
The TBI says shots were fired by Rose and at least one deputy.
Rose was pronounced dead at the scene.
Blakely was taken to U.T. Medical Center.
Blakely graduated from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Academy in 2021.
Blakely is survived by his wife and five-year-old son.
The TBI continues to investigate the shooting.
