KNOX COUNTY MEDICS RESPOND TO VEHICLE ACCIDENT

Knoxville Rural Metro Fire and medics were dispatched around 2 p.m. today to a motor vehicle accident on Norris Freeway at Jessilee Drive in the Halls community.

Upon arrival, crews found a white SUV partially submerged in a residential in-ground swimming pool. Ron Sandifer entered the water to assist in rescuing the victim. Once the debris was cleared, Sandifer noticed the vehicle was starting to roll toward the deep end of the pool. He was able to gain entry into the vehicle as it was filling with water. He pulled the driver from the vehicle and carried her to the pool deck.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
