Katie ‘Fern’ Cox Curtis, age 82, formerly of Crossville, passed away September 4, 2020, at Tennova Hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee. A native of Crossville and lifelong resident of Bradley County, she was the daughter of the late Link and Mildred Hamby Cox. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Kimberly Hutsell; sons-in-law: C.L. Hutsell and Billy Sutton; and brothers: Kenneth Cox and Grant Cox. She is survived her husband of 63 years: James Curtis; daughters: Cynthia Sutton of Charleston, Tennessee and Denise and Rick Barnes of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandsons: Adam Sutton (Stacey), Christopher Sutton (Carrie), Matthew Barnes (Allison), David Barnes, and Logan Sutton (Cara); great-granddaughters: Mahlon and Caroline Sutton; brothers: Boyd Cox (Elaine) and Glenn Cox (Judy). Graveside services will be at 2 p.m CST, Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Fredonia Cemetery in Crossville. Obituary by Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens, Tennessee.
