KNOXVILLE MAN SENTENCED TO 60 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES

In Knox County, Tennessee, 71-year-old Jessie Hurst was sentenced to 60 years in prison by Judge Hector Sanchez, two months after a jury convicted him in August on multiple serious charges, including three counts of child rape, three counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, two counts of rape, and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
According to Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen, the assaults involved three victims: one girl who reported being abused numerous times starting in 2015 when she was 11 years old, and two others identified by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office who were 12 and 13 at the time of the incidents.
Despite Hurst’s claim that he did not molest the victims “to the best of his knowledge,” the jury found him guilty on all counts, leading to his 60-year sentence in the Tennessee Department of Correction.
