Knoxville Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting that happened on Friday night at a convenience store on Asheville Highway.

At around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, KPD officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Kwik Pantry located at 4800 Asheville Highway. A man was found on scene suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center for treatment.

It is believed that there was some kind of conflict inside the store involving the victim and two male suspects when one of the suspects fired at the victim multiple times. The suspects had left the scene prior to officer arrival.
