On Friday, July 15, 2022 around 8 PM, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the Harb’s Market at 3001 Burnside Street in reference to a shooting with a victim. Officers arrived on scene and found a man inside of the store who had been shot. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Based on the preliminary investigation, the unidentified suspect entered the store, shot the victim for reasons that remain under investigation and then fled the scene prior to officer arrival. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
