KNOXVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATING TRIPLE HOMICIDE

The Knoxville Police Department says three women were fatally shot yesterday in two areas of the city yesterday. Officers responded to an area of Division Street and Liberty Street where they found a deceased woman in the road. Police say she had been shot multiple times.

Officers also responded to the 6600 block of Trousdale Road and found two more women who had been shot to death.

A suspect in the cases, 24-year-old Desmon Rhea, was arrested at a residence on Burbury Lane. Authorities say charges are pending against Rhea.

Knoxville police did not initially release the names of the three fatally shot pending notification of next of kin.
