Lana Ruth Hensley, age 85, of Lebanon, Tennessee, formerly of Crossville, passed away February 15, 2021. She was born August 2, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Edward A. and Gladys M. Poole Laffrey. She was a kind and loving Christian lady who loved her family deeply. She enjoyed gardening and growing roses. She also liked to spend time reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Hershel Hensley; sons: David Purdy (Sharon), T.J. Purdy (Debbie), and Steven Hensley (Dot), all of Crossville and Jeff Hensley (Paula) of Byrdstown; daughter: Bonnie Stark (Rick) of Lebanon; brother: Frederick Laffrey of Roseville, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Tommy Purdy; granddaughters: Rebecca Hensley and Shayna Perry, brothers: Edward Laffrey, George Laffrey and Eldon Laffrey; and sister: Edna Kunna. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. central at the funeral home. Burial will be in Creston Cemetery. Obituary by Hood Funeral Home in Crossville.
