Larry King, 77

Larry King, 77, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret King; his wife, Mary Kay King; his daughter, Deborah Shelton; and his son, Leslie Auston Sykes.
Though he is deeply missed, Larry leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, resilience, and quiet strength that continues in the hearts of his cherished family and many dear friends. A proud veteran, Larry honorably served his country for over 28 years in the Armed Forces. He lived a life marked by duty, discipline, and unwavering dedication.
Above all, Larry will be remembered for his gentle spirit, boundless patience, and humble heart. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a lifelong fan of the Tennessee Volunteers-faithfully cheering them on through every win and loss.

Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, September 19th, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with a graveside service to follow in the Decatur Cemetery with Lee Shelton officiating.
