Lawrence Dale Kemmer, age 85, of Grassy Cove, passed away March 28, 2020. He was born September 29, 1934 in Cumberland County, the son of John Litton Sr. and Mary Bristow Kemmer. He worked many years as an officer with the Roane County Sheriff’s Department and the Rockwood Police Dept. He then retired after several years as a security officer with TVA. He is survived by his loving wife: Katherine Kemmer of Grassy Cove; daughters: Marilyn Clifton (Mike) of Rockwood and Kathy Marney (Mike) of Kingston; brother: Robert Kemmer of Grassy Cove, sisters: Pauline Buchanan of Crossville and Norma Patterson (Al) of Crossville; grandchildren: Valerie McWhorter (Ivan), Adam Miller (Dianna), Laura Collett and Joe Collett (Amber); and great-grandchildren: Ava McWhorter, Allie McWhorter, Abigail McWhorter, Dani Miller and River Miller. Graveside services will be held Monday March 30, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Grassy Cove Cemetery.
