LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST BLEDSOE COUNTY AND PIKEVILLE FOR EXCESSIVE FORCE

A $1.75 million lawsuit has been filed against Bledsoe County, the City of Pikeville and two law enforcement officers claiming excessive force. James Evans of Pikeville says Deputy Chase Roberts and Pikeville Police Officer Ricky Hodge responded to his home on a domestic violence call in August 2018. The lawsuit says Roberts and Hodge attacked Evans, slamming him to the ground, breaking his foot, and using a stun gun on him before falsely arresting him. Evans also claims the county and city failed to investigate, discipline, and fire the officers.
