LAWSUITS FILED CLAIMING ILLEGAL STRIP SEARCHES IN PUBLIC IN FENTRESS COUNTY

Lawsuits against at least three law enforcement officers in Fentress County is scheduled to be heard in court late next year. Both stem around pubic strip searches without probable cause. The first incident reportedly took place in June 2019 after a traffic stop involving a man and two women. The lawsuit claims the two females were told to remove their clothing while on a public road and they were searched by officers. It only resulted in an improper tag violation. The second similar altercation involving two females supposedly happened in September 2019 on Main Street in Jamestown. Both lawsuits will be heard on different days.
