Lela Christine Cofer Reed, age 90, of Rockwood, passed away July 14, 2020. She was born on May 6, 1930 in Roane County. She was a member of the Clymersville Baptist Church in Rockwood. She was a longtime employee of Emery’s 5 & 10, and she retired from Kroger. She was a big supporter of the Rockwood Rams, Rockwood High School, and UT Vols and Lady Vols athletics. The family would like to give a special thanks to Caris Hospice for the care and support they showed over the last few years. She is preceded in death by her parents: Owen & Anna Cofer; husband: Thomas Reed; and brothers: Howard Cofer, Lawrence Cofer, and JC Cofer (Mary). She is survived by her daughter: Jeannie Lunt (Randy); sons: Thomas Michael Reed Sr. (Kathy) and Alan Wayne Reed; grandchildren: Thomas Michael Reed Jr. (Alicia), Matt Reed, Brian Reed (Ashley), Steven Wiggins, Phillip Wiggins (Christina), and Eric Fairchild; 13 great-grandchildren; brother: Clarence Cofer (Dolly); sisters-in-law: Wilma Cofer and Libby Cofer; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 9 until 11 a.m. in the chapel at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow. Graveside and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood.
