Linda Faye Smith, 75

Linda Faye Smith, 75, of Pleasant Hill, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 12, 2026.

Born on November 12, 1950, in Big Lick, Linda was the daughter of Laura and Ellis Hodge. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, business owner, and pillar of her community.

For nearly 45 years, Linda proudly owned and operated Linda’s Coffee Shop in Pleasant Hill, where she served far more than coffee. Her shop became a gathering place filled with conversation, laughter, and the kind of warmth only she could create. She also faithfully served the town of Pleasant Hill as Vice Mayor, always caring deeply about her community and the people in it.

Linda found joy in life’s simple comforts and little treasures. She loved crossword puzzles, getting lost in a good book, and a good cup of coffee — though those closest to her knew she may have loved Coffee Mate creamer even more.

She will be remembered for her strong spirit, her kindness, and the way she made people feel welcomed and cared for. Her presence touched countless lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. To have known Nana or as many knew her “Ms. Linda” is to have known Love.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Ellis Hodge; sisters, Mary Randolph (Wayne Randolph) and Rachel Rogers; and husband, James David Smith. Her legacy lives on in sister, Sharon Blankenship (Wayne Blankenship); nephews, Logan and Landon Blankenship; nieces, Angelica Detweiler and Donna Hale; grandniece Evelyn Blankenship; her children, Sandra Wilson (Wayne Bingaman), and James Smith; her grandchildren, Sabrina Smith, Erika Wilson, Christopher Smith, Carley Wilson, Ellis Smith (Tyi Smith), and Josie Smith; her great grandchildren, Sowen and Salem Smith; as well as dear friends, Jayne Greene, Cheree Pugh (and family), Tom and Betty Blaylock (and family), Porter Iles, Jesse and Nettie Iles (and family), Angie and Patrick Stephens, and Tish and Roy Miller; and countless others all dearly adored by Ms. Linda.

She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, along with many friends, customers, and community members who will forever cherish her memory.

Arrangements will be May 15, 2026 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with the receiving of friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM with service and procession to the graveside to follow. Ms. Linda will be laid to rest in New Pleasant Hill cemetery.

She loved each and every one of us “bunches and bunches”.
