Funeral Services for Linda Hunter, age 80, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Don Russell will officiate with interment to follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Hunter was born on Sunday, September 8, 1946, in Taswell, Indiana, to the late John Wesley and Lula Mae Deel Stephens. Mrs. Hunter passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at her home. Linda worked at Red Kap and several other factories. She was known for being a Christian lady who loved God and having strong faith. She loved reading her Bible, Search and Find word puzzles, Phase 10, sewing, and cooking for other people. She is survived by, 3 daughters, Mashell and Todd Molchan of Monterey, TN, Sandra and Jimmy Elrod of Elmwood, TN, Jessica and Jeremy Greenwood of Cookeville, TN; 2 sons, Scotty and Tammy Hunter of Rickman, TN, Chris Hunter and Betty Wright of Monterey, TN; 8 grandchildren, Brent (Jamie) Hunter, Brandon Cooper, Sierra Bartlett, Jaclyn (Cody) Chastain, Samantha (Michael) Castro, Mackenzie Hunter, Hayden Hunter, and Emileigh Hunter; 6 great grandchildren, Bryce Bilbrey, Kaida Cooper, Haylena Cooper, Avery Hunter, Easton Hunter, and Amari Hunter; sisters, Shirley Melton, Marty Hargis, Wanda Williams, and Myra Bilbrey; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Allie Stephens, David and Janice Stephens, Tim and Debbie Stephens; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Hunter, Donnie and Sara Hunter, Brenda Bohannon, Reeda Gunter, Carolyn and Richard Phillips; A host of nieces and nephews and special friend, Diane Miller. The family expresses a special thank you to Janice Stephens for her love and care. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Hunter; son, Gary Hunter; and sisters, Dorothy Stevens, Lillie Riddle, Norma Cox, Carolyn Stephens, and Karen Stephens.
