LONNIE DAN BRELAND, AGE 69

It is with great sadness that the family of Lonnie Dan Breland announce his passing on August 30, 2020. Lonnie, age 69, of Lake Tansi, Tennessee was born and raised in Mississippi, and had also been a resident of Georgia, Alabama, Knoxville, and Cookeville.

Lonnie is survived by his wife: Karen Breland; son: Byron Jason Breland (Tara); daughters: Anna Claire Breland and Wendy Kate Breland; stepson: Dalton Berney; brother: Gregory Breland; grandchildren: Kashus Breland, Joshua Mann, and Michelle Mann; and great-grandchildren: Elijah Gabrielle Mann and Liana Joyce Pattinson.  He is predeceased by his brother: Marty Breland; mother: Frances Janell Byrd Breland; and father: Byron Devan Breland.

Lonnie had dedicated his life to serving God and his savior, Jesus Christ, and to his musical gifts, learning to play piano as a child, studying music in college, and playing piano professionally. He enjoyed many years as piano teacher at The Joy of Music and then with many beloved friends and colleagues at Crossroads Music, as well as sharing his gifts with his church families including Friendship United Methodist Church.  Lonnie had served in the Alabama National Guard; he also served as a dedicated patient care volunteer for Caris Hospice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. central at the Friendship United Methodist Church in Cookeville, Tennessee with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. central  The memorial is available online and the services will be live streamed and posted on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/lonniebreland/ for those who are unable to attend in person.
