LOOPER APPEARS IN OVERTON CO. COURT CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER
A man charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder in Overton County appeared in criminal court yesterday. Officers say 35-year-old Casey Wayne Looper of Westmoreland was involved in a domestic incident on Allen Chapel Road back in April. Deputies with the Overton and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded. Looper allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle and struck a deputy. The officer was later treated for non-life threatening injuries. Other officers fired on Looper’s vehicle disabling it. In court yesterday, his case was reset to be heard again in court January 7, 2020.
