Life in prison. That was the sentence for a Loudon County man for his role in the murder of William “Bill” Roberts back in 2017. Court officials say 31-year-old Robbie Lee Covington also faced charges of aggravated burglary, especially aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon. Roberts was found in his Dutton Road residence with a single gunshot wound to the head. Another suspect who faces the same charges in the case, Brittney Ann Smith of Lenoir City, is set to stand trial October 1.
