LOUDON SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARNS OF JURY DUTY SCAM
From the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office:
The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office wants the public to be aware of a phone scam making the rounds. Scammers are calling people claiming to be a deputy with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office and telling them they’ve missed jury duty. The caller will often say there’s a warrant for your arrest and demand immediate payment to avoid being taken into custody.
Please know that the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call you and demand payment because you missed jury duty. We do not collect fines or fees over the phone for any reason. If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and do not send any payments. If you would like to speak to a deputy, please call 865-558-9081.
