LOVELY TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

Rain chances go down to 20% for Monday, Columbus Day and then great weather is coming for Tuesday through Thursday with sunny and highs in the 70s. A strong cold front will sweep in on Friday and drop our highs to the 50s and lows into the 30s for next weekend. We picked up about two to three inches of rain from Hurricane Delta’s remains And one of the highest totals in the entire state of Tennessee was the 3 inches around Fairfield Glade. A listener wanted to know if a ring around the Moon or a Halo is an indicator of rain or snow on the way? Halos are formed by the light from the sun or moon refracting (bending) as they pass through the ice crystals that form high-level cirrus and cirrostratus clouds. These clouds do not produce rain or snow, but they often precede an advancing low pressure system which may bring bad weather. So I would say yes if you see a Halo there is a good chance you are going to see precipitation in the next day or so. If you need weather data, I am always available at [email protected]
