COFFEE COUNTY I-24 (MM 117) construction of an overpass carrying Wattendorf Memorial Highway/AEDC Road, including grading, drainage, retaining walls, and paving: Drivers can expect short-term flagging operations for trucks entering and exiting the work zone on Wattendorf Highway. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone. There will be intermittent ramp closures to shift traffic on the westbound exit and entrance ramps on 01/07/2026 and 01/08/2026 from 7 PM to 6 AM. Only one ramp will be closed at a time. [Jones Bros. COFFEE COUNTY SR-55 construction from First Avenue (LM 2.0) to SR-16 (US-41A, N. Jackson St, LM 2.6) in Tullahoma: Phase 1 of roadway widening and bridge replacement on SR-55 (Wilson Ave.) will continue this week. The contractor may use temporary lane shifts to complete storm structure installations. Phase 1 traffic shift has reduced lanes from 3 to 2 from Cedar Lane to near Grau Lane in order to continue bridge replacement and storm drainage work. There will be daily lane closures on SR-55 for paving activities. Flagging operations will be utilized on SR-55 from 8 AM to 4 PM daily.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-24 [15.056-15.56] from Crossville city limits to Seventh-Day Adventist Church and School bridge replacement: The contractor has closed SR-24 at LM 15.06 to LM 15.6. This closure will remain in place for the duration of the project. The posted detour is along SR-462 and SR-1. The contractor will be working on general clearing activities and utility work initially. Once initial work is completed, the Contractor will proceed with the replacement of the bridge over the Obed River. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127 S.) Utility Work both directions from LM .44 to LM 5.94: Northbound and Southbound Lane closures on SR-28 (HWY 127 S.) between Lowes Gap Rd. and Willard Brown Rd. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) bridge construction and paving from north of I-40 (LM 17.8) to near Potato Farm Road (LM 22.7): The contractor continues grading activities throughout the project limits. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities. The contractor has scheduled paving operations beginning on the north end of the project on the proposed alignment. The contractor has closed North Grace Hill Drive at the existing intersection of SR-28 (US-127) for construction activities. Motorists should utilize South Grace Hill Drive as the detour with appropriate signs. Traffic has been moved to temporary alignment on Plateau Road and permanent alignment on Potato Farm Road. Flaggers and advanced warning signs will accompany any closures. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone as traffic patterns change.

CUMBERLAND AND FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) widening from near N. Lowe Rd (LM 29.2) to north of SR-62 (LM 1.9): The contractor has shifted traffic to phase 2 on the newly constructed portions of SR-28 LM 0.90 to 1.98 in Fentress County. Work will proceed on the existing alignment of SR-28. Flaggers are being used intermittently as needed to control traffic through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to use caution, be aware of new traffic signs and pavement markings, and watch for construction equipment and personnel throughout the project.

DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 (US-70) grading, drainage, and construction of retaining walls and paving from near SR-53 (LM 2) to near SR-96 (LM 6.1): The contractor will continue normal working activities throughout the project limits. During this work, temporary lane closures are possible, and flaggers will be present. Motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling through the work zone and should be aware of construction equipment adjacent to the roadway.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-62 [5.79-5.81] from west of SR-28 (US-127) to SR-28 (US-127) storm drain installation: The contractor will be closing a lane on SR-62 from LM 5.79 to LM 5.81 just west of SR-28 (US-127) to install a storm drain. The closure will occur daily from 6 AM to 5 PM beginning 1/5/26 to 1/9/26. Flaggers will be used to control traffic. GRUNDY COUNTY I-24 TDOT Maintenance eastbound from MM 132 to MM 133: Environmental (OES) will be cleaning up a fuel spill located at I-24 EB MM 132.85 in Grundy County. Location: Grundy County, I-24, EB MM 132.85 When: 01/07/26 (night work) Start: set up traffic control at 9 PM End: estimated end time of 1 AM Thursday. Superior Traffic control will set up a work zone for OES closing down the #2 outside slow lane to complete this work.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-124 (US-27) from I-24 Interchange to South of the Tennessee River Bridge: Daily lane closures are possible between 9 AM and 3:30 PM as the contractor works along the ramps and 4th Street. Motorists are advised to reduce speed in the work zone and watch for flaggers assisting with traffic control. [Stansell Electric Company, Inc./Chattanooga East/CNY900]

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will regularly occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. Nighttime lane closures from 8 PM to 6 AM are scheduled on I-24 East and West between Germantown Road and the I-75 interchange for placement of permanent thermoplastic pavement markings. Beginning on Sunday (1/11), this night work will continue weekly from Sunday through Thursday during the month of January. Beginning on Monday, January 12th, the contractor will start daytime closures (9 AM to 3 PM) on North and South Terrace for various pavement repairs, milling and final pavement. This work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, weather permitting, and will occur weekly through mid-February until completed. Currently under review is a proposed weekend closure of single traffic lanes in each direction (North and South) of I-75 near the East Brainerd Road (Exit 3) interchange. Closing these lanes would allow the contractor to safely access and complete the remaining median concrete pavement for the new bridge over the CSX railroad under construction on I-75. The first weekend is proposed for Friday, January 16 at 9 PM until Monday, January 19 at 6 AM. Should this request be approved, further information will be provided. Most of the remaining work items on this project are temperature and weather-sensitive. If any of them are canceled due to inclement conditions, they will be rescheduled to take place on the next available day when adequate conditions exist. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, and Shallowford Road exit ramps and Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The speed limit has been reduced on I-75 throughout the project limits. Nightly lane closures are permitted 8 PM to 6 AM. Motorists should use caution, paying attention to construction signage and watching for construction vehicles and personnel.

MARION COUNTY SR-108 [2.8-3.24] slide mitigation: The contractor will be performing slide mitigation operations, including grading, drainage and paving on SR-108 in Marion County at LM 2.8. The roadway will be reduced to one lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. The project completion date is 08/31/2027. Please use caution when driving through the work zone.

MARION COUNTY SR-2 [17.2-17.3] from 17.2 to 17.3 construction: The contractor will be performing grading and drainage operations on SR-2 in Marion County near LM 17.25. MCMINN COUNTY I-75 TDOT Contractor northbound from MM 34.9 to MM 36: During this reporting period the contractor will have the number 2 lane and shoulder blocked for tree removal. This closure will take place on 01/06/26 and 01/07/26 between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM both days. Troopers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Motorists should use caution and reduce speed when traveling through the work zone.

POLK COUNTY SR-68 over SR-40 the construction of bridges: During this reporting period, the contractor will continue construction on the SR-68 North bridge. All SR-68 traffic is using the existing SR-68 South bridge while construction occurs on the new SR-68 North bridge. All SR-40/SR-68 interchange traffic will utilize the SR-68 South interchange ramps. A temporary 3-way stop has been implemented at the intersection of the SR-40 interchange ramp and SR-68. Motorists are encouraged to slow down when entering the construction zone and look out for new stop signs on SR-68 near the SR-40/SR-68 interchange. At least one travel lane will always remain open to traffic. The contractor will have daytime outside shoulder closures on Bradley I-75 between MM 25 and MM 33.

REGION 2 The on-call cable barrier repair on various Interstate and State Routes.: The contractor will have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform cable barrier rail repair. There many also be nightly Sunday through Thursday from 7 PM to 6 AM, rarely and only as needed. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. REGION 2 The on-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will have short-term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly Sunday through Thursday from 7 PM to 6 AM and daily Monday through Friday on state routes. REGION 2 The sweeping on various Interstate and State Routes: Sweeping operations are planned throughout Region 2 this reporting period. Sweeping operations are mobile operations along the inside and outside shoulders with impacts to adjacent traffic lanes. These operations will occur at night between 8 PM and 6 AM for interstates and high traffic state routes, while daytime sweeping can be anticipated between 9 AM to 3 PM for lower traffic state routes.

WHITE COUNTY SR-1 (W. BOCKMAN WAY) TDOT Bridge Inspection westbound at LM 9.35: A routine inspection of the bridge on West Bockman Way in Sparta over Calfkiller River will require closure of the right-hand westbound lane from 8:30 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, January 13. Motorists travelling westbound toward the bridge during these hours should be aware of temporary traffic control devices, alert to the presence of bridge inspection personnel and equipment occupying the right-hand lane and be prepared to merge left as they approach the bridge.

WHITE COUNTY SR-111 (SPENCER HWY.) TDOT Bridge Inspection, both directions at LM 6.37: A routine inspection of the SR-111 bridge over the Calfkiller River at LM 6.37 will require lane closures on Monday, January 12, 2026. The southbound right-hand lane and shoulder will be closed from 8:30 until 11 am. The northbound right-hand lane and shoulder will be closed from 12 until 3 pm. Motorists are advised to approach the work zone with caution, obey temporary traffic control measures, and be prepared to merge left as the approach the bridge throughout the day.

WHITE COUNTY SR-111 (STATE HWY. 111) TDOT Bridge Inspection southbound at LM 17.67: An inspection of the SR-111 bridge over Post Oak Creek at LM 17.67 will require closure of the southbound right-hand lane and shoulder on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 1 pm until 2 pm. Southbound motorists should approach the bridge with caution during this time, follow temporary traffic control devices in place, and be prepared to merge left as they approach the bridge.

WHITE COUNTY SR-111 [15.25-16.25] from O’Connor Rd to Old Kentucky Rd culvert replacement: The contractor is scheduled to begin construction of temporary median crossovers on 01/08/2026. During this work, lane closures will be used with traffic shifts in place. Motorists are encouraged to use caution as they approach the work zone, and they should be prepared to stop. WHITE COUNTY SR-136 (OLD KENTUCKY RD.) Utility Work both directions at LM 4.77: Flagger assisted lane closures on SR-136 (old Kentucky Rd) from Spring Hill RD to Franks Ferry Rd. WHITE COUNTY SR-285 (E. GOOSENECK RD.) TDOT Bridge Inspection eastbound at LM 1.46: A routine inspection of the bridge on East Gooseneck Road over Calfkiller River is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The eastbound lane will be closed on the bridge from 8:30 am until noon. Flaggers will be present to direct motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be alert to the presence of bridge inspection personnel and equipment and be prepared to obey temporary traffic control devices and flaggers present ahead of the work zone at both approaches.
