It may not be ZIP Code 90210, but Luke Perry was laid to rest in Dickson County, Tennessee, Monday.

The “Beverly Hills 90210” star had bought a 380-acre property on Sylvia Road in the tiny Middle Tennessee town of Vanleer in 1994, shortly after the premiere of his film, 8 Seconds.

Local restaurateur Janet Grimes said Perry often stopped in to her establishment, Sisters, over the years, frequently bringing his family in for breakfast. “He acted like we were part of his family,” Grimes reminisced, adding, “He would always give you a hug.”

Days after Perry’s death, locals posted on social media about interactions with the star in their small town, relating memories of conversations and sightings… at the Texaco station, in Pizza Hut, Ace Hardware, Tractor Supply, Kroger, Kmart, Burger King and Ruby Tuesday, among other places.

One woman told of Perry’s paying for an elderly couple’s lunch at Captain D’s – and even bringing their food to the table for them.

Emily Murphy, who met Perry in 1994, while she was a high-school student and he was buying cattle from her daddy, recalled him as being “overwhelmingly kind, polite and humble.”

“You treated a small-town high-school girl like she was important when you were at the peak of your fame,” she said. “I am so glad you called Dickson County home for a bit of your too-short life.”

Perry suffered a stroke February 27 and died March 4, surrounded by his children, fiancée and other family members. He was 52.
