LYLA SHOEMAKER AND LEAH CROCKETT HONORED BY CITY COUNCIL

Student Lyla Shoemaker and Human Resource Manager Leah Crockett were honored by the Crossville City Council yesterday with official proclamations.
Shoemaker was honored as Student of the Month for September 2024.
The proclamation reads:
“Lyla is a natural, kind leader. She enthusiastically helps other students with difficult concepts. She has jumped into House Leadership with both feet. Lyla is always positive, respectful, AND is respected.”
Crockett received a certificate of commendation for her work for the city. The certificate reads:
“For the past nine years, Leah Crockett has worked diligently to improve the enterprise risk management policies for the City of Crossville. In her role as Resource Manager, she has developed an incident reporting system for written reports on complaints of damaged property. Supervisors are responsible for taking photos of these areas and submitting them to her for review. Leah conducts walkthroughs of facilities throughout the year. She has also created an ADA Transition Plan for the city which will assist in identifying vulnerabilities with buildings, sidewalks, steps, railings, playground equipment, etc. Due to these efforts, Crossville has recognized an extraordinary property loss ratio of 16% over the last five years.”
