M.E.D.I.C. HOODIE WEEK RUNS FROM FEB. 24 – 28

KNOXVILLE, TN – As temperatures drop, MEDIC Regional Blood Center is encouraging donors to save lives and stay warm during its Hoodie Week, running February 24–28.
Anyone who makes a successful blood donation at a MEDIC donor center or mobile drive during this time will receive a free MEDIC hoodie (while supplies last) along with a Texas Roadhouse coupon. Hoodie sizes are first come, first served, and appointments do not guarantee availability.
Appointments can be scheduled online at www.medicblood.org, via the MEDIC app, or by calling 865-524-3074.
Why It Matters:
MEDIC serves as the primary blood provider for 25 hospitals and air medical transport services across 23 counties, including Blount Memorial, Covenant Health, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Tennova Healthcare, and UT Medical Center. Blood, platelets, and plasma donated now will be ready for use in trauma situations in the coming days, as it takes at least three days to process donations for distribution.
Unlike some national blood collection organizations, MEDIC is an independent, nonprofit organization, ensuring that all donations stay local, serving East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky.
