MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING AT WALMART
Yesterday, Crossville police units responded to Walmart about a man and woman seen shoplifting. Upon arriving, Officer Andrew King made contact with the two in the loss prevention office and identified them as Gregory and Shelley Moore.
An employee with Walmart said that he observed Ms. Moore and recognized her from a previous event. He said he followed her through the store and watched her select and conceal merchandise into a reusable bag in the Home Department as well as sticker swap UPC labels from one piece of merchandise to another in the women’s apparel section.
Afterward, she made her way to the Jewelry Department, selected a piece of merchandise, and concealed it in her purse. Ms. Moore would select more merchandise from the grocery department before making her way to the self-checkout where she skipped scanned merchandise at the register.
The employee said she made her way to the main doors, passing all points of sale, and pushing out the merchandise without attempting to purchase it.
Mr. Moore was also observed by the employee to conceal merchandise and reusable bags in the Home Department before making his way to the self-checkout area and skipped scanned merchandise as well.
The total amount stolen by the two was valued by Walmart employees at around $523.01.
The two were taken to the Justice Center where both were served with a warrant for shoplifting.
