MAN ARRESTED IN PICKETT COUNTY; CHARGED WITH METH CONTRABAND

On February 11, 2025 at approximately 2000 the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office received a tip concerning William Matthew Huddleston then (49) of Byrdstown being at a local business. Mr. Huddleston had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Deputies Joseph Britt and John H Craig Jr made contact with Mr. Huddleston and placed him under arrest for a Capias out of General Sessions Court. After entering the secure location of the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office to be processed Mr. Huddleston was found to have a small baggie of crystal like substance consistent with methamphetamine on his person. The local business called immediately after departure of Mr. Huddleston and the Deputies and notified us of a pipe being located in the booth that Mr. Huddleston was occupying. Therefore charging the above with Capias/Failure to Appear, 39-16-201 Contraband in a Penal Institution, 39-17-418 Simple Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine, and 39-17-425 Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. Sheriff Dana E. Dowdy also had a vital part in this case.
