Cookeville police and medics responded before sunrise yesterday to 586 South Jefferson Avenue about a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Hooligan’s Irish Pub.

On arrival, officers located 36-year-old Christopher Posey of Maryland deceased. Posey suffered injuries consistent with an apparent gunshot wound.

At this time, officers believe that all involved parties were located and to maintain the integrity of the investigation, their identities are currently being withheld.

The Cookeville Police Department says this was an isolated incident, and they have no reason to believe that the public is in any danger.
