MAN JUMPS INTO CUMBERLAND RIVER TO EVADE CARTHAGE POLICE
In Smith County, Tennessee, authorities are actively searching for an individual who reportedly fled from Carthage police officers and jumped into the Cumberland River.
According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Department, the person ran from law enforcement, entered the water, and then went under the surface. The Smith County Rescue Squad has initiated search and recovery operations near the Carthage boat ramp.
The investigation is being led by the Carthage Police Department, with assistance from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
