On Saturday, around 11:05 PM a man was reported climbing the locked gates of the Gatlinburg Sky Bridge. He ran from staff ultimately diving from the center of the bridge approximately 165 feet from the ground. There are independent confirmations that the man did die by suicide. A note was left at the scene.
