MAN MAKES BOMB THREAT TO NASHVILLE HOSPITAL BECAUSE HE WANTS TO GO BACK TO JAIL

A man has been arrested after making a false bomb threat to a Nashville hospital on Tuesday.

According to an affidavit, a man identified as 30-year-old Matthew Dorton, sent a text message to 911 stating he made a bomb threat to TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion hospital and wanted to turn himself in.

Dispatch confirmed that a call was made to the TriStar Parthenon Pavilion and that a staff member received a phone call from a male who stated, “I’m going to blow up the hospital.”

When officers made contact with Dorton he admitted to making the bomb threat due to still being upset regarding an incident at the hospital that resulted in his arrest on April 7.

Dorton said that he was recently released from jail, approximately a month ago, for the incident at the hospital which led to his arrest. He went on to tell police that he had been having a hard time since being released and that he made the false bomb threat as a means to go back to jail.

Dorton was arrested for a false report of emergency and held on $5,000 bond.
