MAN REPORTS A BAG WITH $1,000 FOUND NEAR HIGHLAND LANE
Yesterday, Deputy Jacob Moore with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office spoke with a man who located some money on the side of the road. The caller explained that he had located two sandwich-sized plastic bags on the side of the road near Highland Lane.
The caller said the bags contained an unknown amount of money and tapes from an add machine. The tapes had writing on them but the writing was unreadable due to weathering on the bag.
The total value of the money was estimated by the man to be around $1,000.
Moore explained to the caller that he could hold on to the money for 30 days and his phone number in the event that someone came to the Sheriff’s Office to claim the money.
