MAN SHOT TO DEATH AT GAS STATION IN NASHVILLE

A man has died following a shootout at the Mapco gas station on Gallatin Pike South at 11 p.m. Friday night. Courtlyn Hendricks, 28, was involved in an exchange of gunfire before he was driven to Skyline Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation, led by Homicide Unit Detective Ryan Russell, indicates two red cars, one driven by Hendricks, the other by his brother, were parked at the Mapco when a gray Nissan Maxima with tinted windows blocked the vehicles in and began shooting. Courtlyn Hendricks and a friend returned fire. All three vehicles then fled the parking lot.

The motive in this fatal shooting is unclear. Detectives are still trying to locate the Maxima and those inside. Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
