The Knoxville Police Department is investigating the death of a man who died after falling from a crane at a construction site in Fort Sanders, now named as 21-year-old Jackson Gervasio from Michigan. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday near Lake Avenue and 19th Street.

Gervasio, believed to be intoxicated, climbed over a fence to access the site and fell from the crane’s top. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was sent to the Regional Forensic Center for examination.

The investigation, led by KPD’s Violent Crimes Unit, is ongoing.
