MANHATTAN PROJECT NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK BACK UP AND RUNNING… FOR NOW

Now that the partial government shutdown is over – at least for now – and federal employees are back at work, things are getting back to normal in Oak Ridge. During the five-week shutdown, no National Park Service staff or volunteers worked at the Park Service desk at the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge. The National Park Service didn’t monitor or update social media or websites during the shutdown, and provided no visitor services at the Manhattan Project National Historical Park, including public information. All park programs were canceled. The Manhattan Project National Historical Park staff resumed regular operations this past Sunday, after President Donald J. Trump signed a short-term continuing resolution that re-opened the government for three weeks.
