MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE IN COVERAGE AREA
Overnight tonight (Monday, January 13, 2020) into early tomorrow, the National Weather Service says parts of the 105.7 The Hog coverage area is under a marginal risk of severe weather.
The storms will form from a front straddled across Georgia and the Carolinas. As the front moves closer to us tonight, the threat for thunderstorms rise. Locations primarily impacted should be along and south of I-40 with the greater risk south to the Alabama/Georgia line. These are expected to be scattered storms and not a line of them as we saw this past weekend.
The storms could develop and start to move over the plateau as early as around 1 to 2 a.m. tomorrow morning. according to several radar forecast models.
The main impacts include heavy rainfall, lightning, and small hail. No tornadoes are expected.
