Mary Ellen Wilson, age 77, of Sweetwater, Tennessee passed away on November 12, 2024, at Parkwest Hospital. Mary Ellen held many public jobs, but her most important and cherished job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the holidays, baking and most importantly having all her family together. She was active in her church (Christianburg Baptist Church) and she cherished her church family and friends.

Preceded in death by her father and mother: Clifford and Burnella “Sis” Charles; brothers: Kenneth Charles, J.O. Charles, Donnie Charles; sisters: Betty Lunsford, Wanda Barnes and Kaye Wattenbarger, all of Athens

Survivors include her husband: Mack E. Wilson, of Sweetwater; daughter: Trina (Rick) Kyle, of Sweetwater; son: Chad (Marissa) Wilson, of Knoxville; grandchildren: Alexaudra, Olivia, Lilly, and Chole Kyle, Tavis and Tharrin Shuler, Austin, Joshua, Malachi, and Joseph Wilson; sisters: Estalene Deakin, of Etowah, Peggy Smith; sisters-in-law: Dee Charles and Sheri Charles, both of Athens; brother: Denny “Jerry” Charles, of Sweetwater; special friend: Alene Lones, of Sweetwater

A funeral service will be held for Mrs. Mary Ellen Wilson at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11a.m. with Rev. Darrell Cardin and Rev. Freddie Crabtree officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Christanburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
