MEDICAL CLINIC IN ONEIDA UNDER INVESTIGATION DESTROYED BY FIRE

A medical clinic in Scott County under investigation by the DEA was destroyed by a fire this morning.

The Oneida Fire Department responded just after 2 a.m. to Coffey Family Medical Clinic. Officials say two other businesses, Mark’s Pharmacy and Buckeye Medical Equipment, were in the same building.

In June 2019, agents with the DEA raided the clinic as part of a drug trafficking investigation. The DEA said that the clinic handed out prescriptions for nearly 5 million narcotic pills.

A cause of the fire is under investigation.
