TENNESSEE LAWMAKERS CONSIDERING RED FLAG GUN LAW BILL

Tennessee State Representative Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville) along with Senator Sara Kyle (D-Memphis) proposed bills that would allow a court to issue an emergency protection order that would temporarily keep a person from either owning or buying a firearm if they’re deemed a threat by law enforcement or a family member. No word yet on when lawmakers will vote on the two bills labeled House Bill 1873 and Senate Bill 1807. Currently, 17 other states and the District of Columbia have passed Red Flag gun laws.
