MELTON ARRESTED FOR DUI IN ROANE COUNTY SATURDAY MORNING
Early Saturday morning, Roane County deputies noticed a vehicle on Highway 27 whose tag lights were not working. It was also drifting in the lane and traveling over the fog line.
Deputies pulled the vehicle over on South Roane Street and spoke with the driver, 21-year-old Dylan R. Melton, who had an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Melton appeared unsteady on his feet and his speech was slurred. He said he’d been at the Smoke House Bar and Grill and drank at least three beers.
Melton couldn’t complete field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. When he refused to give a breath sample, he was also charged with violation of the implied consent law. Melton was cited for the light-law violation.
