Michael Dean Compton, 58
Michael Dean Compton, age 58, of Ten Mile, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, following a courageous battle with a rare form of T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia after a bone marrow transplant. Born on October 22, 1967, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Michael was the son of Harold Dean Compton and Genevieve Ward Compton. He was a proud graduate of Oliver Springs High School, Class of 1986, and continued his education at Roane State Community College, graduating in 1988. Michael built a dedicated career in retail management and records management for several engineering firms before joining Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he served as an Engineering Records Manager. Above all, Michael loved the Lord and cherished his family. He was a devoted Star Wars fan and found great joy in training, teaching, and helping those around him. His willingness to share his knowledge and lend a hand left a lasting impression on many.
Preceded in death by, father, Harold Dean Compton.
Survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra Ridge Compton; mother, Genevieve Ward Compton; sisters, Tena Compton Naja (Zack) and Belinda Compton Ebeling (partner, Samuel Rhead); nieces and nephews, Tamara Naja Machado (Timothy), Brandon Ross Ebeling (fiancé, Maggie Pesterfield), Makayla Yasmine Naja and Brent Thomas Ebling.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Michael’s memory to Blood Cancer United (formally The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) and National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP).
