MINNEAPOLIS CATHOLIC SCHOOL SHOOTER NOW DECEASED; NO ACTIVE THREAT

A suspected shooter at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, where the first day of classes for the K-8 school was underway, is deceased, according to two law enforcement officials. The city of Minneapolis stated on X that there is no active threat to the community and the shooter is contained.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who was briefed on the incident, expressed prayers for the students and teachers affected by this “horrific act of violence” and noted that the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and State Patrol are on the scene. FBI agents are also responding, as confirmed by Deputy Director Dan Bongino on X. Hennepin Healthcare, a level 1 trauma center, is managing an emergency situation related to the incident.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey is monitoring the situation, with the city’s emergency response team activated. This remains a developing story.
