Cookeville, TN – At approximately 1:15 PM on January 19, 2023, the Cookeville Police Department responded to the 1100 block of East 10th Street in reference to a missing child. On arrival, multiple officers began searching the area and located the girl at the bottom of a swimming pool nearby. Officers immediately jumped into the pool to rescue the child and began performing life-saving measures on the unconscious three-year-old girl. The child was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center by ambulance where she was pronounced deceased.
