The TBI says a missing boy from DeKalb County who was the subject of an endangered child alert has been found safe.

The TBI said Dean Ferrell, of Smithville, was found safe last night in Byrdstown, Tennessee.

Authorities believed he may have been with his non-custodial mother.

The TBI did not provide an update on her status.
